What is Portfolio
The Portfolio application is your central space to gather and curate your creative outputs. Whether you are a director, musician, photographer, agency, or brand, Portfolio lets you present your entire body of work as a clean, shareable public showcase.
Within the app, each entry is called a Work. A work represents a single creative project—such as a film, album, campaign, or photoshoot—and can hold multiple pieces of media (called Assets) at once. This means you can display entire album tracks, multi-episode series, or full photo collections under a single portfolio entry.
Getting started
To open the application and start building your showcase:
- Locate and click on the Portfolio section in your main navigation menu.
- The main screen displays your workspace grid, where you can view, search, and manage your existing portfolio entries.
- To start a new showcase entry, click the button to create a new work. You will be prompted to select a core media type—Video, Audio, or Image—and provide a project title.
Key capabilities
- Portfolio Display (Public Showcase): Present your projects using an interactive, card-based gallery layout. Visitors can click on project cards to open dedicated detail views that highlight project descriptions, custom metadata, precise credits, and interactive links. The visual layouts are optimized for readability and feature custom brand iconography for social media and external streaming platforms.
- Work Management (Content Management): Easily organize, edit, and update your showcase entries. A streamlined editor interface makes it fast to manage project metadata (such as project subtypes and release dates), add formatted descriptions, organize media assets, and make direct associations with other entities.
- Multi-Asset Projects: Store multiple media items under a single work. For example, a photoshoot entry can hold several distinct images, or an album entry can contain multiple audio tracks. Each individual asset within a work supports its own thumbnail cover, aspect ratio setting, and sequence label.
- Direct Asset Importing: Save time and storage space by importing assets directly from other areas of the platform. You can pull in versions from Creator Studio or collections from your Media Gallery without re-uploading files. You can also paste YouTube or Vimeo URLs to instantly import video links.
- Aggregator Links: Add clean, standardized buttons beneath your work to direct your audience to major external platforms. Portfolio supports buttons with dedicated iconography for Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, Bandlink, YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, TikTok, personal websites, or custom links.
- Precise Crew and Brand Credits: Credit the people and brands behind your projects. Using a specialized search picker in the editor, you can search for a brand or person and assign them a specific role (such as artist, label, producer, sponsor, partner, distributor, client, or custom crew roles). Credits can even be targeted to a single asset within a multi-asset work (e.g., crediting a photographer for a specific image in a large gallery, or a producer for a single song on an album).
- Smart Filtering and Search: Visitors can search your public showcase by media type, brand, credited person, or release year. The filter menus are smart—they only show options (such as years, brands, or professions) that are actually associated with your published works, preventing empty menu choices.
- Curated Editor's Picks: Select and order your very best work to feature at the top of your showcase page.
How to use it
Step 1: Create a work
- Click the button to add a new work.
- Select the core media type: Video, Audio, or Image.
- Enter a title. You can also add a description, release date, and cover image.
Step 2: Add your media assets
You can populate your work with media in several ways:
- Import from the platform: Select the option to import from Creator Studio or your Media Gallery to reference your existing work directly without duplicating files.
- Import from a video link: Paste a YouTube or Vimeo URL. The app will automatically fetch the video's title and thumbnail cover for you.
- Manage your assets: Arrange your assets into the desired order. You can set individual thumbnails and sequence labels for each. Toggle the "Primary" switch on the asset you want to use as the main card cover in your portfolio grid.
Step 3: Add external platform links
- Under your work's link settings, click to add an external link.
- Choose the platform type (such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, or Instagram) from the supported list.
- Paste the URL and enter an optional label. Save to display a clean aggregator button on your project page.
Step 4: Add credits
- Use the specialized search picker in the credits section to search for and select a brand or a person.
- Assign their role or profession.
- Optional: If your work contains multiple assets, you can select a specific asset to link this credit to. If left blank, the credit applies to the entire work.
Step 5: Publish your work
By default, new works are saved as drafts and remain private. When you are ready to share:
- Toggle the visibility setting of the work to Public.
- Once public, the work will appear in your public showcase grid, your brand or personal profile tabs, and public portfolio pages.
Step 6: Curate your Editor's Picks
- From your profile or portfolio settings, open the Editor's Picks curation tool.
- Select your top projects (up to 8) and arrange them in the order you want visitors to see them first.
- Save your selection to update your featured showcase.
Tips & notes
- Editor's Picks limit: You can choose a maximum of 8 Editor's Picks for a person's profile. Saving a new list of picks completely replaces the previous order.
- Direct link visibility warning: Marking a work as private (draft) hides it from the public portfolio grids, search results, and filter menus. However, please note that any visitor who has the direct web link (URL) to a specific work's detail page will still be able to view it.
- Primary cover rule: A work can only have one primary asset cover. If you set a new asset as the primary cover, the system will automatically demote the previous primary asset.
- Filter menu updates: When you publish a new work, the public search and filter dropdowns update roughly every 10 minutes to reflect the new brand, crew, and year metadata.
- Unsupported formats: The Portfolio application only supports Video, Audio, and Image core media types. Other formats (such as GIFs) are not supported.
