What is Motion Designer

Motion Designer is a creative application within the ProMediaFlow platform that turns static web pages or pre-built scene templates into polished, cinematic animated videos. By pointing the application at any live website URL, you can capture a pixel-accurate snapshot of a web page and "film" it. The application applies smooth animations and a moving 3D camera with professional, cinematic finishing touches—such as glowing bloom, depth-of-field, subtle film grain, and chromatic aberration.

Whether you are starting from a live website or a ready-made template, Motion Designer lets you produce eye-catching video reels in standard vertical, landscape, and tablet formats. These are perfect for product launches, social media, and landing page promotions.

Getting started

To begin, open the Motion Designer application within the ProMediaFlow studio. You can choose one of two ways to start a new project:

• Start from a Template: Browse the built-in template catalog and select an animated layout (such as a 3D camera showcase, a vertical mobile reel, or branded card layouts).
• Import a Page: Paste a live website URL to capture a snapshot of the page and automatically start a new draft project.

Note on Credits: Web page imports, AI-driven layout generations, and rendering final high-quality videos on the servers will consume your account credits.

Key capabilities

• High-Quality Background Video Rendering: Generate downloadable, professional MP4 video files of your projects. Rendering runs in the background on dedicated cloud servers so you do not have to wait on a loading screen. You can easily track the progress of your export in your project history as it moves from queued, to rendering, to complete (or failed).
• Faithful 1:1 Web Page Snapshot Import: Capture any live web page exactly as it appears online. The import process renders the page offline, embedding all custom fonts, vector graphics (SVGs), and design assets, and automatically tags individual elements so they can be animated.
• Consistent 3D Camera & Animation Engine: Achieve professional cinematic motion graphics with a moving 3D camera and per-element entrance animations. The animation engine ensures absolute visual consistency; your live preview matches your final exported video frame-for-frame, preventing preview drift. Advanced camera path controls allow you to apply cinematic post-processing effects like depth-of-field, bloom, film grain, and chromatic aberration.
• AI Assistant Automation: Use the integrated AI assistant to simplify your workflow. You can prompt the AI in plain English to automatically fetch and list available scene templates, import a web page, generate custom design layouts on your canvas, or start a background video render on your behalf.
• Private Workspaces: All of your imported assets, design drafts, and completed video renders are securely isolated and private, meaning they are visible and accessible only to your account.

How to use it

Workflow 1: Importing a Web Page

1. Select the Import Page option in the creation menu.
2. Enter the URL of the website you want to animate.
3. (Optional) Customize your settings. You can name your project, adjust the screen size (viewport width and height), or set specific wait conditions to make sure interactive elements load before the snapshot is taken.
4. Click Import. The application will capture the page and create a new draft project with your web elements converted into animatable objects.

Workflow 2: Editing with the Interactive Editor

For hands-on customization, you can use the interactive 4-panel editor:

1. Canvas View: Arrange and position your visual layers (including text, images, shapes, videos, and audio).
2. Timeline Panel: Control when elements enter and exit. Adjust the timing of individual layers along the timeline.
3. Properties Panel: Fine-tune 2D settings such as horizontal/vertical position, scale, rotation, and opacity at specific keyframe points.
4. Resource Panel: Browse your uploaded assets and manage project media.
5. AI Prompt Bar: Enter a text prompt to let the integrated AI assistant generate a design layout or composition for you directly on the canvas.

Workflow 3: Previewing and Rendering Your Video

1. Use the Live Preview player to play back your animation and scrub through the timeline to make sure everything looks perfect.
2. Select your export method:
   • Browser Export (Quick): Best for fast, real-time downloads of simple edits directly within your web browser.
   • Server Render (Cinematic): Best for complex 3D movements and lossless visual quality. Clicking this enqueues your render job in the background.
3. Track the status of your export in your project history. Once the status updates to complete, play back your finished video and download the high-resolution MP4.

Working with Sequential Action "Beats"

For advanced layouts, animations are structured around a timeline of sequential steps called "beats." You can script these steps using the AI assistant or preview them in custom templates.

Each beat acts as a focused step in your video's story (aim for a sweet spot of three steps for a standard 15–20 second video):

• Action Types: Beats can automatically handle complex visual movements such as text typing, mouse clicks, element highlights (an emerald ring with a dimmed background), step-by-step element reveals, camera pullbacks, or title cards.
• Pacing and Safe Zones: The engine automatically enforces professional design rules. It keeps text within social media safe zones, automatically holds the camera after movements, adjusts camera speeds based on distance, and times caption text to match realistic reading speeds.

Tips & notes

• Render Gating: Certain rich templates in the catalog (such as "intact-reel" or "blaze-3screen") require a preloaded web snapshot or an uploaded image set to render. Attempting to render these templates before importing your media will result in a validation error.
• Visual Keyframe Limitations: The timeline's keyframe editor currently adjusts properties for the 2D visual editor only. If you are using a code-driven 3D scene template, adjustments are managed via the template's properties rather than manual keyframing.
• Video Formats & Durations: Templates come in standard shapes and sizes, including landscape 16:9 (1280x720), vertical 9:16 (1080x1920), and tablet portrait formats, at 24-30 frames per second (fps), with durations ranging from a few seconds up to 18 seconds.
• Visual Consistency (Determinism): The video engine is designed so that a specific point in time always yields the identical visual frame. To ensure your preview matches your final export exactly, custom scene animations should not rely on unpredictable behaviors like system time or random generation.
• Previewing Saved Projects: When you open a saved project, verify that the timeline live preview plays back your actual saved scene correctly before triggering a background render, rather than defaulting to a basic demo.
• Render Failures: If a background render fails with a "Server render disabled" error, this indicates the environment is not configured with the necessary server rendering resources.
• Server Render Template Limitations: Note that server rendering of beat-driven scenes (such as the vertical "intact-reel-916" template) is not yet supported on background servers. For these specific templates, utilize the in-editor preview to play back and review custom beats.
