What is Character Creator

Character Creator is a standalone creative tool designed for building reusable digital personas (characters), styling them with custom wardrobes, and assigning them realistic voices.

With Character Creator, you can compile a personal library of characters—including photorealistic real people and AI-stylized avatars—and use them across all of your Creator Studio projects without having to recreate them. You can also publish your digital personas with their own dedicated landing pages, building a discoverable portfolio that other users can explore and use in their productions.

Getting started

To open the application, select Character Creator from your ProMediaFlow dashboard.

• Creating a Character: Start by selecting the Create Character button in your library dashboard. You will then define whether the character represents a Real Person or an AI / Stylized persona.
• AI and Metered Features: Generating visual turnarounds, portraits, and custom cloned voices consumes account credits. These AI features are metered and billed to your account as you use them. Credits are deducted once a clone or image is successfully generated.

Key capabilities

• Creator Studio Sync & Public Portfolios: Author a character once—complete with its voice and looks—and immediately access it across different video projects in Creator Studio. You can also publish public avatars to showcase your designs on dedicated landing pages.
• Reusable Character Library: Organize your custom avatars in one central dashboard. You can define specific physical traits such as face shape, skin tone, and ethnicity so your characters remain consistent.
• AI-Powered Turnarounds & Portraits: Generate consistent, multi-angle turnaround images or direct portraits to define how your character looks from various sides.
• Flexible Voice Management: Choose a voice from the library of pre-made options, design a specialized voice, or clone a custom voice using your own audio samples.
• Wardrobes & Makeup Looks: Customize and save specific styles, outfits, or makeup designs (known as Looks) for each character.
• Compliant Likeness Verification: For photorealistic real-person avatars, secure compliant video generation by registering their verified likeness through our integration with Seedance. AI and stylized characters skip this step entirely and are supported automatically.

How to use it

Creating a Character & Adding Looks

1. Select Create Character in the library dashboard.
2. Choose your character type:
   • Real Person: Requires likeness verification before being used in video generations. Displays a "Verification required" badge until registered.
   • AI / Stylized: Does not require verification. Displays a "Supported / no verification needed" badge automatically.
3. Fill out the physical descriptors (such as ethnicity, skin tone, and face shape) and save.
4. Add custom Looks to establish distinct wardrobes or makeup styles for different production scenarios.

Setting Up a Voice

Go to your character's voice settings to select a voice mode:

• Library or Designed Voice: Browse and assign pre-configured voices.

• Voice Cloning: To clone a custom voice:

  1. Upload up to 5 audio sample files.
  2. Ensure files do not exceed 10 MB per file or 25 MB total across all uploaded files.
  3. Confirm the cloning action. Credits are deducted once the clone is generated.

  Note: If you later delete or replace this cloned voice, it will be permanently removed from the system.

Verifying a Real-Person Likeness

Before generating photorealistic video featuring a real person, you must register their likeness. This process is protected by a one-time Identity Verification (KYC) gate to ensure compliance.

Step 1: Complete Your Identity Verification

If you haven't verified your account identity, attempting to register a character will show a "verify identity first" note. Click the Open Verification link, which will direct you to your profile cabinet to complete the one-time check.

Step 2: Register the Likeness

Once your account is identity-verified, choose one of two registration paths:

• Automatic Registration (Using AI Portraits):
  1. Generate a multi-angle turnaround sheet or portrait for your character.
  2. If a turnaround exists, click the Register turnaround button.
  3. If you only have a single portrait image, the button will read Register portrait (and warn you that no full turnaround is available yet).
  4. The system will process the image and update the status to Active.
• Guided-Manual Registration (Using the Provider Console):
  1. Access the Seedance console to complete the liveness and consent checks directly.
  2. Copy the resulting Group ID and Asset ID provided by Seedance.
  3. Paste these IDs back into the Character Creator manual registration fields to save the linkage.

Tips & notes

• Verification Statuses: You can monitor your registration status on the character's profile. It will progress from Pending (during processing) to Active (fully verified and ready for video), or Failed / Revoked if processing fails.
• Replacing Assets is Clean: Re-registering a character's likeness or Look replaces the previous registration. The system automatically deletes the old record to ensure you never have duplicate entries or outdated references.
• Scope-Specific Verification: You can verify a likeness at the overall character level or register different assets for specific wardrobe Looks. Character-level sections will only show references that apply to the overall character, keeping your specific Looks organized separately.
• Troubleshooting Rejections: If your audio uploads for voice cloning are rejected, verify that your files are in a standard, supported audio format, under 10 MB individually, and under 25 MB in total.
• Service Availability: Likeness registration relies on external processing. If the verification systems are temporarily undergoing maintenance or are not fully configured on the server, the interface will display a "not configured yet" warning.
