What is Artwork Researcher

Artwork Researcher is an intelligent visual discovery and research application designed to support creative teams during the pre-production phase of a project. By automating the visual analysis process, the application simplifies how you find, evaluate, and organize your visual references.

Using advanced AI, the tool automatically identifies artistic styles, color palettes, composition techniques, and historical influences from your reference assets. This eliminates hours of manual research and helps your team quickly establish a clear, cohesive visual direction for your project.

Getting started

To begin your visual research:

1. Log in to your ProMediaFlow platform dashboard.
2. Open the Artwork Researcher application from the dashboard menu.
3. This opens your centralized research workspace, where you can immediately view your existing library, import new files, or organize your reference assets.

Note: Visual analysis and reference processing run automatically in the background as soon as you add or synchronize assets. You do not need to perform any manual setup steps or manual configurations to trigger the AI analysis.

Key capabilities

AI Visual Analysis

The core power of Artwork Researcher lies in its automated AI analysis. When you upload or import artwork and video references, the system automatically processes them to extract essential design elements:

• Artistic Style Detection: Automatically identifies the specific artistic styles present in your references.
• Color Profiling: Extracts and generates detailed color palette profiles, showing dominant colors.
• Compositional Layout Analysis: Performs structural analyses to identify composition techniques and layout framing.

Historical Context Discovery

The built-in historical context engine automatically detects the historical influences and artistic movements associated with any of your uploaded, imported, or discovered reference artworks.

Research Organization & Centralized Workspace

The application provides a structured, searchable workspace to manage all of your visual references—including static images, standard videos, music videos, and advertisements. You can navigate your assets using a refined workspace interface with dedicated tabs:

• Library: Your complete, searchable repository of all reference assets.
• Collections: Structured groupings of curated references, which you can organize by project, theme, or department.
• Playlists: Sequential reference arrangements useful for mapping out video flows or visual sequences.
• Moodboards: Thematic spatial layouts used to establish and communicate visual direction.

Flexible Reference Ingestion

Build your reference library using three flexible methods:

• Manual Addition: Directly upload individual image or video references from your local files to your library.
• Playlist Import: Upload external playlist files to bulk-import groups of references at once.
• Automated YouTube Sync: Connect to YouTube to automatically pull and synchronize video formats, such as music videos and advertisements, directly into your library.

Interactive Item Cards & Detail Modals

Clicking on any asset in your workspace opens a focused detail window. This view presents a clean, interactive display of detailed metadata, color profiles, style tags, compositional layouts, and AI-generated insights.

How to use it

Step 1: Add references to your library

To bring visual assets into your workspace, choose one of the following methods in the interface:

1. Manual Addition: Use the manual entry tools to upload individual image or video files directly from your local drive.
2. Playlist Import: Upload an external playlist file to instantly import pre-grouped references.
3. Automated YouTube Sync: Connect the application to YouTube to automatically synchronize and import dynamic video formats like Music Videos and Advertisements.

Step 2: Analyze visual assets

Once an asset is added, the platform's AI automatically processes its visual features in the background. To view the analysis:

1. Locate the asset under the Library tab.
2. Click on the asset to open its Detail Modal or view its Item Card.
3. Review the AI-generated metadata, including the extracted color palette, composition structures, historical movements, and artistic style tags.

Step 3: Organize your workspace

Structure your pre-production materials using the custom tabs in your workspace:

• Create Collections to group references by theme, project, or department.
• Build custom Playlists to sequence visual ideas or reference videos.
• Compile Moodboards to establish, layout, and share the visual direction of your project.

Tips & notes

• Supported Content: The tool natively supports a wide range of media formats, including static images, standard videos, and dynamic online sources (like Music Videos and Advertisements) brought in via YouTube synchronization.
• Automatic Enrichment Lifecycle: When you import or add an asset, it is processed automatically. The AI-generated color palettes, composition structures, historical movements, and style tags are permanently bound to the asset record and indexed, making them instantly searchable in your library.
• Recent Interface Improvements: Recent updates to the workspace interface, playlist integration features, and asset detail cards provide a highly focused, streamlined environment for managing extensive pre-production research libraries.
